Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about using SociaList.
For Creators
How much can I earn on SociaList?
Earnings depend on the campaigns you participate in and your content performance. Payouts are calculated based on actual views relative to the campaign's reach target. If your content hits the full target, you earn the full campaign budget.
Do I need a minimum follower count?
No. SociaList is built for creators of all sizes, including micro-influencers. Our matching algorithm considers engagement rate, content quality, and niche relevance — not just follower count.
How many campaigns can I participate in at once?
Currently, each campaign works with one creator. You can pitch to multiple campaigns (up to 3 pitches per week) and accept multiple invites.
What types of content can I create?
This depends on the campaign platform and deliverable type. Options include YouTube videos, YouTube Shorts, Instagram posts, Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, and TikTok videos.
Can I decline a campaign invite?
Yes, you can decline any invite without penalty. We encourage you to only accept campaigns that are a good fit for your audience and content style.
Why does SociaList show fewer views on my Instagram reel than the IG app?
Instagram exposes two different view counts. The play count under your reel in the IG app is the live, customer-facing counter. The Insights API view count — which is what we use — is Instagram's verified analytics figure: the same certified number Meta uses internally for ad measurement. The Insights number filters out very-short scroll-bys and updates on a slower cadence, so it typically reads 5–15% lower than the in-app counter. Both numbers come from Instagram, but only the Insights number is auditable, which is why we use it for tracking and payouts.
For Businesses
How does performance-based pricing work?
You set a budget and a reach target for your campaign. The creator's payout is proportional to actual performance: if they achieve 80% of the target views, they receive 80% of the budget. You never pay more than your budget.
How are creators matched to my campaign?
Our matching engine scores creators based on their performance history, audience alignment, content niche, location, engagement rate, and more. You receive the top matches as campaign invites.
Can I review creators before starting a campaign?
Yes. You can browse the creator directory, view their profiles, connected platforms, and performance stats before creating a campaign or responding to pitches.
What platforms are supported?
We currently support YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok campaigns. Each campaign targets a single platform.
What happens if a creator doesn't deliver?
If content is not published within the agreed timeframe, the campaign can be cancelled and your budget is refunded. Our dispute resolution process handles edge cases.
When should I repost or share the creator's content?
We recommend waiting until the campaign's performance window (7 days) is complete before reposting or sharing the creator's content on your own channels. Reposting during the measurement window can skew the analytics — views from your repost may inflate the creator's numbers, leading to a higher payout that doesn't reflect their organic reach. Once the window closes and the final payout is calculated, feel free to reshare and amplify the content as much as you like!
Platform & Payments
Is SociaList free to use?
Creating an account and browsing the platform is free. Businesses pay campaign budgets, and creators earn from completed campaigns. Platform fees are included in the campaign pricing.
How are payments processed?
Campaign budgets are held as a deposit when a campaign launches. After the performance window ends, payouts are calculated and distributed automatically.
What data do you collect from my social accounts?
We collect public profile information (username, follower count, bio) and content analytics (views, engagement) needed to verify your audience and track campaign performance. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
AI Agents
Can my agent use SociaList?
Yes. SociaList exposes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server so AI agents — Claude Desktop, agent SDKs, MCP Inspector, or your own — can act on behalf of a Small Business Owner. Agents can create and update businesses, draft campaigns, run matching, and negotiate with creators. Visit the For Agents page for the endpoint URL, OAuth flow, and the full list of available tools.
What can an agent do for me?
An authorized agent can manage your business profile, draft and update campaigns, start matching, browse the creator directory, and respond to pitches and messages on your behalf. Money-moving steps — funding a campaign and going live — still require your manual confirmation.
How does the agent get permission?
Through OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The agent sends you to a SociaList consent screen where you sign in and approve the requested scopes (sbo:read and/or sbo:write). Access tokens last one hour and refresh tokens can be rotated; you can revoke access at any time.
Is it safe to let an agent into my account?
Agent access is scoped and audited. Only Small Business Owner accounts can authorize agents, tokens are stored hashed and rotate on refresh, and the most consequential actions — funding campaigns and launching them — are intentionally out of reach for agents and require a human-in-the-loop confirmation.
